Support is not only a key component to your success, but also to your overall well-being.
When you don’t have the support you need it can make things hard. Trust me we all don’t have the best support systems.
I know because some of the hardest times of my life I was alone. That’s why I am so passionate about what I do as a Spiritual Love Coach.
I coach women because I truly believe in supporting each other.
If you find yourself alone when you need support, you can make it through.
Here are some tips to support yourself.
1. Be honest with yourself
This isn’t the time to pretend everything is okay or that you have someone to turn to. This is the time to be real with yourself and the things going on in your life.
2. Get clear on the outcome
When things are chaotic what you need most is clarity. Figure out what you want the end result to be and focus on that.
3. Don’t look for help where it doesn’t exist
One of the hardest things is being surrounded by people who can help you, but choose not to. It could be easy to blame them for not stepping in or lending a helping hand.
Continuing to expect help or support, is like putting your hand on a hot stove repeatedly, even though you know it will burn you. This may mean you have to face some harsh realities, and why being honest with yourself is critical.
4. Build up a toolbox of resources
If your immediate circle can’t help you, find someone who will or tools and resources that can help you. Times like these having a coach or mentor is great because they are totally focused on helping you solve your problem.
5. Limit additional drama and negativity
It’s not a good idea to add fuel to the fire. Eliminate as much negativity and drama as possible. This may mean distancing yourself from others.
You don’t need to live in isolation. The idea is to connect with people that can relate to you and aren’t adding to your problem.
6. Move your body
Chances are you are stressed, emotions are running high and you need an outlet.
Physical movement is amazing at shifting your energy. Try dancing, going for a walk, or exercising to help you deal with your stress in a healthy way.
7. Take care of yourself – mentally, physically, spiritually, and financially
You have to be the coach and the player. The boss and the employee. If you don’t have help you have to make the best decisions that will help you get through the storm. It’s easy to give up.
You may want to ignore the problem and numb yourself with food or alcohol. It’s so important to care for yourself so that you can be the support you need.
8. Pray or meditate
Peace and clarity come from prayer and meditation.
I’ve Been There…
I went through the most difficult part of my life with very little support. I know for a fact not having a support system made things a lot harder for me and it took longer for me to overcome everything that I was facing.
In a perfect world we are only surrounded by positive, loving people, but the world we live in isn’t perfect. Sometimes the people around us aren’t able to help us in a way that helps us.
I had to become my own support, my own hero, coach, and cheerleader.
Now I’m a coach in a position to help you with my knowledge, experience, and skill set.
Let Go of Blame
It’s important not to blame others for their lack of support.
This is gonna hurt, but no one owes you that. No one has to help you and they aren’t obligated to feel bad about it.
As horrible as that sounds it’s the truth.
Blaming others for your circumstances or struggle shifts you into a victim mindset. That will only add to your issues.
Be empowered by taking responsibility for your situation and push through.
Let’s Have a Heart to Heart
There are tons of reasons why you may not have a good support system, but that doesn’t have to stop you from changing your life. I learned to be my own support system, it wasn’t easy but it makes me the woman I am today, and it’s why I’m so passionate about supporting you.
